The ABC newspaper puts its whole historical photographic archive on sale

The ABC newspaper, the elder statesman of the Spanish press with more than 100 years of history, has set in motion a very interesting initiative: the opening of a portal for the sale of historical photographic content called ABC Foto. Through this space, it is possible to access the whole photographic archive of ABC, a visual treasure which is now within everyone’s reach. To manage this vast archive of images, ABC uses QUAY, the Protecmedia solution designed for this field.

ABC Foto is included, as a separate section, in the newspaper’s webpage, and offers a striking and intuitive view for the reader. It has a front page with galleries which change from day to day, plus sections which analyse photos in their specific context.

Each of these photos can be bought by the reader, accessing a screen where there is an option which allows its price to be calculated based on different variables, such as the use for which it is to be put, and in which territory, or the resolution. In addition, a complete description of each photo is given, together with the author’s details, date ... having chosen the variables and set the price, the user can obtain the photo.

ABC Foto also has a search engine through which the user can trace images using different filters which make them easy to locate. Using all of the above, the reader can browse the whole of the newspaper’s archive quickly and simply.
