Gelnhäuser-Neue-Zeitung unveils a new web base on Protecmedia’s CMS ITER Web

Thanks to the full bi-directional integration between the new ITER Web CMS and the MILENIUM editorial solution, journalists do their work for all channels through a single work interface.

At the beginning of February the newspaper Gelnhäuser-Neue-Zeitung presented its new completely redesigned web www.gnz.de, which incorporated new technologies provided by Protecmedia’s ITER Web CMS.

The journalists of the publishers “Druck- und Pressehaus Naumann” now create and publish their content in a manner that is simpler, more streamlined and more in line with the editorial position, without the need for specialist technological knowledge.

From the visitor’s perspective, browsing is much faster and the news that happens in the region is grouped by areas according to an interactive map that facilitates readers’ searches for news. In addition, Facebook and Twitter activity is boosted; as a result the news can be disseminated allowing readers’ comments, thereby encouraging communication and their participation in these social networks.

Thanks to the full bi-directional integration between the new ITER Web CMS and the MILENIUM editorial solution which is used by the newspaper’s newsroom, journalists do their work for all channels through a single work interface. This allows, for example, the e-paper version for the web to be generated in a simple and almost automatic manner from the newsroom itself. This digital version of the newspaper is available free of charge for all readers during the first two weeks; after this, a digital subscription is required to be able to access content.

The mobile version of the web has been updated and improved to keep the readers informed at all times and places.

“We are very happy that, from now on, we can link all of the benefits of our technological partner Protecmedia with our webpage,“ explains the Editorial Director Joachim Sinsel. “This allows us to manage the content in the different channels from a single editorial platform. This strategic alliance with Protecmedia will bring new developments in the forthcoming years that will prove to be great interest for the company.”

“Druck-und Pressehaus Naumann” fully trusts in the “lengthy digital experience of Protecmedia”, in order to be able to develop its future product strategy.
