Segre newspaper sets up a classified advertisements portal using Protecmedia’s solutions

Built with Flex technology, it has two sections, one for bookings and the other for searching published advertisements

The Segre newspaper has decided to transfer to its webpage the traditional classified advertisements section of the printed newspaper. To implement this project, the publication decided to rely on ADonLINE Classifieds Web, Protecmedia’s specific tool for the creation of online classified advertisement portals.

Segre has set up a classifieds portal with Flex technology that offers the user a simple browser that is a pleasure to use. The portal has two sections: one to consult published adverts and the other for booking purposes. As regards the former, the user, through a filter, can carry out whatever searches he wants on the basis of the criteria that he is interested in. The system will show him the results that adjust to the search criteria used and the user may find there all of the data relating to both the advertisement and the advertiser.

In the booking section, the client can choose between different subscription packages, each one with a different price, depending on whether the advert in question is to be placed online, in the print version or in both media. Once the specific option has been chosen, the system guides the user through a series of simple steps before the advert is published in the portal.

In this way, Segre has opened up a new business channel, importing to “digital territory” classified advertisements which traditionally generated a significant profit for the print version. And it has done so using the best technology offered by Protecmedia to allow it to make the most of this type of advertising.
