The Malaysia publishing group The New Straits Times Press buys SHIPO, Protecmedia’s solution for managing circulations and subscriptions

The Malaysian publishing group The New Straits Times Press has bought SHIPO, the solution created by Protecmedia for everything related to the management of Circulation and Subscriptions. The group has decided to replace its old system with SHIPO with a view to modernising these two areas, achieving an improvement in the service offered to its subscribers and optimising the distribution of its publications.

After more than 30 years providing solutions and services in the publishing sector, Protecmedia entered the Asian market in order to broaden its horizons and to be able to offer its innovative solutions to new clients. This was less than a year ago and Protecmedia, in collaboration with Richmatt Graphics, its partner in this territory, has managed to obtain the trust of The New Straits Times Press, the most important publishing group in Malaysia, which viewed SHIPO as the ideal solution for modernising its circulation and subscription areas. The Malaysian group publishes a total of six publications: New Straits Times, New Sunday Times, Berita Harian, Berita Harian Ahad, Harian Metro and Metro Ahad.

Through SHIPO, the group’s publications will be in a position to manage everything related to their subscribers in an effective manner, thus offering them a better service adapted to their characteristics and preferences. In addition, they will obtain very detailed knowledge of what their audiences’ profile and tastes are, providing them with very useful information for possible commercial and marketing actions.

With respect to circulation, SHIPO will allow The New Straits Times Press to focus all the variables which relate to circulation into a single application, which, moreover, is integrated with the other areas. In this way, it is possible to achieve an improvement in all of the processes and, above all, minimise errors. The result is that circulation is optimised, meaning increased profitability and the avoidance of possible unnecessary expenses caused by the mismanagement of this area.
